These datnoids have three distinct solid bars along their body. The grade of the fish is dependent on how solid and defined the bars are. Grade B have less "dirtier" bars or sections of incomplete bars which makes them non-symmetrical and lower quality.
 
Datnioides Microlepis originate from Indonesia and can be distinctively identified with their solid unique bar patterns. Their color can fluctuate from tan to gold to dark brown depending on mood and stress.
 
They are ambush predators that feed on crustaceans, insects and smaller fish. These fish will typically gather as juveniles and become solitary as adults.
